Our story

It began with one person.

hǣlan was built first for one woman living through cancer treatment and recovery — and for the people who wanted to help without overwhelming her.

What began as a deeply personal act of care became a different kind of recovery companion: private, patient, and designed around the life that is actually being lived.

The word

hǣlan · Old English
to heal, to restore, to make whole

It is the root of heal, health, and whole. The line above the ǣ is called a macron — it asks you to hold the sound a little longer. We think of it as a horizon, a breath, a still line over a moving life. It is the quiet signature of everything we make.

What we believe

One thing at a time.

Invitations, never demands.

Rest days count.

Plans may move without creating guilt.

The record belongs to the person living it.

Every day belongs.

The full manifesto lives on the homepage — it says the rest better than any about page could.
